What does the future hold for Tesco Clubcard?

With Tesco potentially looking to offload Dunhumby, the data company behind Clubcard, does that mean that the loyalty programme will be any less important to the supermarket in the future?

According to Marketing Week the sale of Dunhumby is less about the relevance or profitability of Clubcard but is much more about Tesco attempting to leverage a valuable asset in attempt to reduce its debt and avoid a rights issue. With this in mind what does the future hold for Clubcard and what will be the repercussions for both Tesco and Dunhumby?
